The Credit Crunch - a response

With the news filled with doom and gloom reports about the Credit Crunch and the global financial crisis, what should our response be a Christians?

Wellspring Blessings!

With a conference title like 'Wellspring' we knew that God was going to shower us with blessings, but we hadn't realised it was going to be physical showers as well as spiritual showers! Actually it was more like torrential rain than showers! Some folk got washed out and had to find bed & breakfast in Wadebridge, and others in the Truro bunch ended up moving tents three times!

St Austell Church Plant - next instalment!

An important thing to remember when you go to Caerhays Beach near St Austell, is that the tide comes in very quickly on the right side of the beach, right up to the wall, leaving no sand whatsoever!!

This is where the St Austell Church Plant contingency were gathered on Saturday 30th August for an afternoon of fellowship and beach games.  It would be great to continue with the drama... however we did move in good time to the left side where there was plenty of room!

Drawn 2gether

On Saturday 23rd August, a little group of aspiring artists met up at Trelissick Gardens, for an afternoon of chat, laughter, drawing and painting, and tea and cakes!

We sat at a picnic bench overlooking the sea for awhile, it was absolutely beautiful if not a little chilly! Everyone did something different, and it was great to have the opportunity to be creative in our own way.

St Austell Church Plant

On Saturday 26th July, Porthpean Beach near St Austell was the place to be!  A good crowd of people joined together for puppets and picnics!

This was the first public expression of a belief that God was planting a L & L Church in St Austell.  Pastor John and Pastor Jonny, together with members of the L & L Churches in Helston and Truro, joined with folk from St Austell to share the 'Good News' about new life in Jesus Christ.

Baptisms at Gyllyngvase Beach

Sunday 20th July saw about a hundred people picnicking, having fellowship and rejoicing together as five people from Light & Life in Truro went through the waters of baptism at Gyllyngvase Beach in Falmouth.

New website launched

After a long wait, the new all-singing, all-dancing Light & Life website is GO!

As well as loads of static information to provide general information about Light & Life, what we believe and where we meet, there is an events section which will be constantly updated with the lastest goings-on. Also, there is a news section, and visitors will be able to register to receive updates from both the news and events pages.
